April 30, 2003 (Millersville, Maryland) - The National Institute of Rug Cleaning (NIRC), an institute of the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration, Inc. (ASCR), inducted professional rug cleaning expert, Stiles Clarke of Admiral Cleaning & Restoration, as a Certified Rug Specialist (CRS), a select group of individuals holding the rug cleaning industry's foremost certification. The induction ceremony was held on March 14, 2003, during ASCR's 58th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Savannah, Georgia.

The Certified Rug Specialist designation is the preeminent recognition offered by the NIRC to professional rug cleaners. In order to qualify for this credential, individuals completed extensive educational requirements covering a broad range of expertise in rug identification, as well as their remediation, cleaning and restoration.

The CRS candidates were also required to prepare a formal report on and approved subject, pass a rigorous exam which demonstrated their knowledge in this area, and to formalize their commitment to the NIRC Code of Ethics.

The Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration, located in Millersville, Maryland, is an international professional association of more than 1,300 member firms specializing in cleaning, treating, repairing damaged buildings and their contents. ASCR is comprised of five institutes: The Water Loss Institute, The National Institute of Disaster Restoration, The Mechanical Systems Hygiene Institute, The National Institute of Rug Cleaning, and The Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Institute. Stiles Clarke appointed as Vice President of the National Institute of Rug Cleaners

(Huntsville, Alabama) - Stiles Clarke, president of Admiral Cleaning and Restoration in Huntsville, has been appointed vice president of the National Institute of Rug Cleaners. He was appointed to the two-year position while attending a week-long conference of the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration. The NIRC is an international group made up of cleaning industry professionals.
